ree Works purchases a small quantity of hardwoods within the State of Maine but the majority of the hardwood has been donated from local woodworking businesses. These donated pieces are called “shorts” that would normally be burned or discarded. We up-cycle these hardwood shorts into beautiful, one of a kind, quality wood products. Up-cycling and donations allow us to keep our prices low without sacrificing quality.

The Progress Center, Inc., incorporated in 1980 and started off as a small program supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. In the last 35 years we continue to strive to meet the needs of our community members and now offer children’s services, employment services and Tree Works.

Tree Works makes cutting boards, cheese boards, chess sets and the like. Each piece is made by an adult with an intellectual or physical disability along with their support staff.
