Our Mission Each person with a disability has a desire for a rich and varied life, including a physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual dimension. Each person grows through their life experience and has the right to make his/her own life choices, including those that may involve risk. At The Progress Center our mission is to promote independence and freedom of choice for the individuals we serve, and help them discover their own dream for a meaningful life. The mission of our Community Kitchen, Food Distribution and Feel Better Food Program is to provide nutritious meals that promote health, wellness, and healing for members of our community who are most in need.

Who We are The Progress Center is a human services non-profit agency that provides residential, vocational, day habilitation, case management, and in-home support services to adults and children with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. In addition, every Thursday evening we host community dinners free to the public. We have been in operation since 1980 and support approximately 192 people living in 44 communities within 4 counties in western Maine.

Community Support

We work with adults to support community inclusion, personal development, and supports in areas of daily living.

Employment Supports

Assisting individuals with Intellectual Disabilities to find and maintain employment.

Children's Services

Kids in Progress provide in-home supports to assist children to develop social and independent living skills.

Targeted Case Management

The community case manager works closely with the participant to ensure that his/her desires and needs are addressed
