Jennifer Putnam, Executive Director

Jennifer joined The Progress Center, Inc. in 2014. She brought with her many years of successful nonprofit leadership experience. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Maine and a Master of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s College. Jennifer currently serves on the Maine Developmental Services Oversight and Advisory Board, the United Way of Oxford County Board of Directors and as Legislative Committee Chair of the Maine Association for Community Service Providers (MACSP). Jennifer is dedicated to growing The Progress Center by providing high quality services to individuals of all ages with intellectual disabilities and autism. Jennifer believes in an organizational culture founded on mutual respect, open communication and a commitment to quality.

Ashleigh Barker, Director of CCM and Children’s Service

Ashleigh Barker, Director of Community Case Management and Children’s Services

Ashleigh has been part of The Progress Center team since 2008.  She received her BA from University of Southern Maine in Social and Behavioral Science. Ashleigh oversees the two case management teams and the children’s services program.  Ashleigh has experience in developing programs, implementing changes to improve programs and proving successful outcome.  She is a certified BHP trainer, pursuing her license in social work and what she likes most about her job is that it gives her the opportunity to learn and be creative and guide others to do the same.

Eric Ross, Director of Finance

Eric joined The Progress Center in December came highly and came recommended. He has 18+ years of experience in the world of finance. “I’m excited to join The Progress Center family”, said Ross. “I believe strongly in the mission and core value of The Progress Center. I think the work they have done and continue to do for Maine and individuals in need is remarkable. I am excited to be a part of that now and am looking forward to doing my part in making a difference as well”.

Miranda Ward, Marketing, Development and IT Manager

Miranda joined The Progress Center in May 2011 after graduating from The University of Southern Maine with a degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Miranda worked as an advocate for adults with intellectual disabilities as a Community Case Manager for 3 years. In 2014 she accepted a position as Marketing, Development and IT Manager. She enjoys designing marketing materials and transforming the company website and acting as the race director for The Progress Center’s signature fall fundraiser– Wicked Weird and Totally Freaky Trick or Treat Trot by the Lake 5k/10k/Wicked Walk! Miranda plans to develop her skills as a grant writer for the agency.

Celeste Wideman, HR

 

 

 Celeste Wideman, Human Resources Manager

Celeste joined The Progress Center in November 2014.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Maine with concentrations in Professional Writing and Fine Arts.  She brings with her several years of HR experience working in social services, including talent acquisition and management, employee relations, training and benefits. She enjoys staying up to date with current HR trends and reading law compliance articles.  She shares pride in seeing happy, engaged employees and their employment retention. Celeste is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Laura started working in the Finance Department at The Progress Center in March, 2008.   She specializes in accounts payable, billing and payroll services. Laura has 20 years of experience in providing finance services to for profit and not for profit companies in Maine. Laura’s door is always open and encourages staff to seek her out for support when needed.

April Arbegast, Case Management Supervisor

April Arbegast, Case Management Supervisor

April joined The Progress Center in September 2018.  She earned her BS in Sociology from the State University of New York College at Oneonta.  Since graduating April has worked in various Social Services roles empowering families, children and adults living with disabilities to set goals and live their best possible lives.  Additionally, April has experience developing, growing and overseeing Behavioral Health programs in the state of New York.  April is excited to be joining a team of dedicated and caring professionals.  She will be overseeing the Community Case Management Program and will be pursuing her License in Social Work.

Julia Herrick, Community Case Manager

Julia received a Bachelor’s degree in Social & Behavioral Sciences from the University of Southern Maine. She has extensive background in Case Management and Human Resources. Julia began as a Community Case Manager at TPC in early 2012; she left for several months to stay at home with her children and welcome her third child; then returned to the CCM role at TPC in early 2015. She is currently pursuing her Social Worker licensure.

Sandi Tate, Community Case Manager

Sandi Tate joined The Progress Center case management team in 2014. Sandi comes to us with a strong background in crisis counseling. Sandi is a new “Mainer” of just 5 years who originated from Melrose, MA. Sandi has one adult son and 2 grandchildren. Sandi enjoys Maine and plans to stay because the people are down to earth and genuinely kind hearted folks.

Nicole Quirion, Case Manager

Nicole Quirion joined The Progress Center case management team in February of 2017. Nicole has a BS in Mental Health and Human Services with a minor in Substance abuse counseling from the University of Maine at Augusta where she also obtained her MHRT-C. She comes to us with 9 years of case management experience working with both children and adults. Nicole has a strong desire to advocate, educate, support and encourage individual growth.

Kevin joined The Progress Center in March of 2017. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Springfield College. Since that time, Kevin has worked  in the Special Education Field at the elementary school level. He looks forward to a new challenge of working with adults with developmental disabilities. He enjoys taking photographs with his wife and also has a daughter who is a sophomore in college.

John Melhus joined The Progress Center case management team in June 2018.  John studied Psychology in undergraduate studies at St. Lawrence University. He spent a couple years working with children with severe Autism near Boston, MA. He earned his Master’ degree in clinical mental health counseling from Western Kentucky University. He has spent the last several years conducting individual and family therapy with children and their families.

Children’s Case Management

Kristen Charest, Children’s Case Manager

Kristen joined The Progress Center in 2016 as a Children’s Targeted Case Manager.  She received her BSW from The University of Southern Maine and is currently working on pursuing her Master’s degree and her license in social work. Kristen began her career in children’s services as Program Coordinator for the Pequawket Kids Association before transitioning to a DSP II in residential treatment for 5-14 year olds. Kristen also manages an independent mentor program for MSAD 72 and volunteers for children’s empowerment groups such as Girls On The Run and Hardy Girls Hardy Women.

Nancy Francis, Children’s Case Manager

Nancy joined The Progress Center in April of 2016 working as a Targeted Children’s Case Manager. She also specializes in providing transitional services for individuals moving from children to adult services. Nancy started in the social service field since 2003 working in a variety of positions including: direct service professional, job coaching with a focus in traumatic brain injuries and for the past 9 years provides case management for children and families.  Nancy graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2007.  Nancy enjoys working collaboratively with clients and their families to help them grow to become more independent and self-sufficient and looks forward to being able to continue to do so with The Progress Center.

Holly Fleming, Children’s Case Manager

Holly joined The Progress Center team March 27, 2017. She is a recent graduate from the University of Southern Maine with a degree in Social and Behavioral Science with a concentration in counseling and earned her Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/community certificate from the Muskie School of Public Service in 2016.

Holly is a veteran of the United States Air Force where she served on active duty for 9 years as an EMT/medic/nursing assistant. After leaving the Air Force, Holly provided support to clients through Home Instead Senior Care, and worked as a DLS staff for a mental health agency serving the adult population.

Rodney Joined The Progress Center in January 2019 as a Case Manager. He earned a Bachelor degree of Science in Rehabilitation Services from The University of Maine at Farmington in 2014. Rodney worked to obtain skills and knowledge doing a wide variety of field work before coming to The Progress Center. He is driven by a deep desire to see people attempt, and succeed at the things that they never thought they could do.

Erika joined The Progress Center in June 2016 as a Behavioral Health Professional. Lynne joined The Progress Center, Inc. in 2011.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Southern Maine. She is a certified BHP trainer and is pursuing her license in social work. Lynne has experience in managing and implementing changes to improve programs.

Melanie Ryerson, Children’s Services Regional Supervisor

Melanie joined The Progress Center, Inc. in February 2017, as a Children’s Service Coordinator. She began working with families and youth in 2001 as a BHP and throughout the years transitioned into the roles of Field Trainer and Program Manager. Melanie enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to be part of The Progress Center team and looks forward to continuing her work with families and youth of all abilities.

Heather L’Heureux, Children’s Services Coordinator

Heather joined The Progress Center, Inc. in January of 2017 as a BHP. After obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Human Services – Child and Family welfare, Heather worked in the public school system as an Educational Technician.  Heather is excited to work with children and families in her community and continue her education at The Progress Center.

Cristen joined The Progress Center in February of 2017 as a Children’s Service Coordinator. She graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Child Development and Family Relations. Over the years, Cristen has taught pre-school and special education, as well as directing a Child Care Service. Cristen is proud to be a member of the Children’s Service Team at The Progress Center.

Jennifer Ney, a 6 year employee of The Progress Center, Residential Service Manager overseeing coordinators and direct support staff of the residential programs. Jen is currently pursuing a nursing degree which will be completed in 2019. Jen has been in the field for more than 11 years and enjoys providing support and guidance to staff to provide the best care for our client.

Darren Goyette, Manager of Shared Living

Darren joined The Progress Center in January 2016. Darren  has worked as a Behavioral Health Professional, a Direct Service Provider,  Quality Assurance Manager and he moved to the role of Shared Living Manager in January 2019.  Prior to coming to The Progress Center he leveraged his education in Accounting in various roles, as a staff accountant, a financial consultant, and an independent consultant.  Darren enjoys the direct contact with the people he supports and strives to enrich their lives by ensuring quality services are provided.

Community Support

Jessica Davie, Community Support

Jessica Davie joined The Progress Center in the spring of 2008 as a Direct Support Professional while developing activities for the Physical Development program which focused on activities that helped build gross motor skills. Jess also managed the Oxford Hills Food Collaborative which sold local made in Maine products and produce for a number of years. Then she became a team leader for Community Supports before accepting a position as a manager of the Community Support Program. Jess enjoys her work with The Progress Center and believes the importance of community inclusion and plans to increase the number of community based events and activities offered at TPC.

Tia started working for The Progress Center in the spring of 2008 as a DSP. Tia has been working as an Employment Specialist/Job Coach for the past 10 years and enjoys working with and providing exceptional care and support for our participants. Tia was promoted in July of 2018 to Community Supports Coordinator. Tia is very excited to be involved in the growth of a great company.

Community Kitchen

Liz Blaquiere, Kitchen Manager

 

Liz Blaquiere, Kitchen Manager

Liz joined The Progress Center 20 years ago while running a volunteer meal site. She enjoyed the work and the clients and chose to volunteer as a coach for the Special Olympics team. In 1999 she became a full time employee at our residential home before joining community supports in 2004. Liz now managers the Community Kitchen and related programming including: Feel Better Food, Produce Distribution and Community Support Culinary programs.

Maureen Bilodeau, LCPC-C, Affiliate

Maureen Bilodeau, 6 year employee and 2015 Employee of the Year, earned her Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor- Conditional in December. Maureen made social services her life long career beginning in early childhood education in the 80’s to providing case management services to children and families. Maureen earned a Master of Science and Human Services degree from Springfield Collage in December 2012.  Now, as an LCPC-C  she uses strength-based approaches to helping children, teens and adults identify and develop goals to work towards change in a safe and comfortable environment.
